Abstract

In 1974 the United Nations prepared a technical document showing different possible configurations for ocean mine-sites. While the options have since narrowed, the concepts relating to the configurations are still of interest. This chapter reviews the different possible configurations for ocean mine sites, examines the current discussion of the issues they raise and points out some of the implications inherent in the different approaches.
