Abstract
Acupuncture treatment consists of inserting needles into acupuncture points, thereby stimulating some sort of change within those areas and channels. Needling is the most traditional method of point treatment and still regarded as the most satisfactory, despite competition from a lot of other more modern treatment methods. These include electrical, laser, or just manual pressure, and will be discussed in Chapter 7. Provided certain precautions are taken, needling is safe and relatively atraumatic (even to the most needle-phobic, myself included!). This chapter will deal with all the necessary detail needed for satisfactory needling technique.
