Abstract
This chapter deals with acupuncture at its simplest and in many respects is the ideal way to get started. We can, for the moment, leave aside the ideas of pathogens and organ pathology, and concentrate on conditions that, according to traditional Chinese teaching, are caused and correctable by a purely localized disordered flow of qi involving one or more channels. The majority of common musculoskeletal conditions that we see fall into this category, and are ideal for this approach.
