Role of E-and Z-Carbanions in the Stereochemistry of Anionic Vinyl Polymerization

  • Conference paper

Abstract

The occurrence of geometric isomers of type 1 where X and Y may be C, N or O is well documented. [1–8] Recent work in our laboratory has focussed on the occurrence of E and Z isomers of 1 and their role in the stereochemistry of anionic polymerization of vinyl monomers CH2CHC(Y)X where X = 0 or N and Y = 0, N or C.
