Abstract

The SAX satellite, whose launch is foreseen for the second half of 1992, will be devoted to spectral and variability studies of celestial sources over a wide energy range, from 0.1 to 200 keV. This paper gives a synthetic description of the instruments and of the scientific objectives of the mission.
