Abstract

Considerations are summarized concerning the physical properties of and plasma phenomena around a cometary nucleus aiming at a new model of the nucleus and its interaction with the solar wind.

Paper dedicated to Professor Hannes Alfvén on the occasion of his 80th birthday, 30 May 1988.
