Wave and Bubble Characteristics in the Surf Zone

  • Chapter

Part of the book series: NATO ASI Series ((ASIC,volume 238))

Abstract

Attention is given to the shape of the bubble cloud produced during breaking of shallow water solitary waves in a sloping tank. The growth and collapse of the bubble cloud on the front face of the breaking wave is evaluated. The noise generated by these bubble clouds after breaking is investigated in an exploratory manner.
