Abstract

The feasibility to collect at-sea measured acoustic and supporting environmental data to both describe the ocean surface source level density function theoretically and to model ambient noise accurately is demonstrated in this paper. An exercise involving high sea state capable data collection buoys is presented so that the risk of data retrieval and exercise cost are minimized.
