Abstract
The Pacific coast of Canada accounts for 10.5% or 25,717 km of the total Canadian marine shoreline. It is a complex system of mountains, narrow coastal lowlands, and fjords. Dunn (1984) summarized the characteristics of each of these systems as follows:
