Abstract
The Baltic Sea is a relatively small basin in which every human activity, such as coastal and offshore engineering, mining, environmental protection, fisheries, and navigation, can bring about irreversible effects. Therefore much attention is devoted to research on the natural phenomena that shape the coast and to conditions of the water itself.
