Abstract
This paper intend to proof that emotion is not an epiphenomenon of cognition, of meaning, but rather the basis on which cognition is built. Cognition is seen as metaemotion. This has important consequences for the understanding of intelligence and meaning and therefore for the development of Artificial Intelligence.
