Abstract

Proper motion measurements in superluminal sources and in SS433 and Cyg X-3 provide the strongest evidence for outflow in AGN’s and X-ray binaries. Indirect evidence for outflow in AGN’s comes from the collimated jet-like structures which are a common feature of extragalactic radio sources. The broad absorption lines in some quasars and possibly the asymmetric narrow emission line profiles in Seyfert and radio galaxies are further indirect evidence of outflow.
