Theory of Flames

Book cover Disorder and Mixing

Part of the book series: NATO ASI Series ((NSSE,volume 152))

Abstract

The current status of the field of premixed flames is reviewed. The free boundary problem associated with the propagation of flame fronts into laminar or turbulent flows is discussed. New results concerning the regimes of corrugated flamelets in high intensity turbulent flows and of cusped fronts for low intensity are presented.

Dedicated to the memory of Y a. B. Zeldovich.
