Abstract
Advances in the field of superconductivity initiated by the IBM group in Zürich /1/ started a flurry of interest in structure and mechanism of these materials able to superconduct at temperatures considerably higher than had previously been reported. Most of these materials are of oxygen-deficient perovskite structure. Those with a Tc about 40 K have the composition La2-xMxCuO4, where M means Ba, Ca or Sr. In this work the hyperfine interaction of 140Ce is used to study this type II superconductor.
