Abstract

By ion-beam mixing, amorphization of Ni-Zr thin films has been studied in the temperature range 77–673K for various compositions. Microstructures were characterized by TEM. The results are compared with corresponding data obtained by use of melt-spinning and solid-state amorphization reactions, and with results of ion-beam mixing of the systems Fe-Zr and Co-Zr.
