Evaporators

  • Chapter

Part of the book series: NATO ASI Series ((NSSE,volume 143))

Abstract

This Lecture is concerned with the design of various types of evaporator used in relation to concentration and crystallisation in the process chemical industry. The various designs of evaporators are described together with their areas of application. The thermo-hydraulic design aspects of evaporators are reviewed including aspects of direct contact and multi-stage flash evaporators. Finally various operational problems and difficulties are discussed.
