Abstract
Parametric amplifications of plasma waves result due to a periodic modulation of a parameter which characterizes the plasma waves. It may occur in two ways — either due to wave-wave interactions or due to temporal variations in the electromagnetic fields in the presence of a large-amplitude pump wave. We will consider in the following examples of both types of excitations.
