Abstract
The correlation between structure and complexing properties has been studied on various insoluble cyclodextrin polymers crosslinked with epoxy compounds. As model guests azo dyes, iodine and salicylic acid were selected. The higher the cyclodextrin content of the polymer the larger amount of azo dye was bound. The higher swelling caused faster sorption. Epichlorohydrin and ethylene glycol bis(epoxypropyl)ether mixed crosslinking agent resulted the polymers of the highest sorption capacity. Chemical modification with acetyl groups decreased the sorption capacity of the polymers.
