Abstract
In this chapter small oscillations of homogeneous and discretely structured plasmas are studied. The method of separation of variables allows us to solve the corresponding spectral problems explicitly. The results obtained in the present chapter are interesting in themselves, while the ideas and methods developed for the investigation of homogeneous and stratified plasma can, after some alterations, be applied to the study of inhomogeneous plasma as well.
