Part of the book series: Cancer Growth and Progression ((CAGP,volume 4))

Abstract

The cutaneous integument may often reflect the occult presence of malignancy due to the pleuro potential biologic behavior of neoplastic cells. This is not surprising considering the immunologic, metabolic, hereditary and metastatic behavior that characterizes neoplastic growths. Recognition of cutaneous manifestations of internal malignancy may lead to the early diagnosis of the neoplasm and possibly improve the prognosis.
