Abstract

Contrary to what a layman might think, economics is not the only scientific discipline concerned with “understanding economic behaviour” — other disciplines like psychology, business administration, sociology, or anthropology are likewise concerned with this type of human behaviour. While the object of inquiry is, at least at a sufficiently abstract level, the same, the disciplines differ in the research paradigm that they use in studying it, and hence each can make its unique contribution.
