Abstract
The Yellow River, the cradle of the Chinese nation, is the second largest river of China. It is known throughout the world for its abundant silt, severe sedimentation at the lower reaches, and the high frequency of flooding with tremendous damages. Since liberation, great achievements have been gained in flood prevention and utilization of water and silt of the Yellow River, but flood and silt sedimentation have not been fully controlled. A study of counter-measures for regulation of the Yellow River and flood prevention is one of important probjects to fight against the threat of floods.
