Abstract
Various bodies both statutory and voluntary are concerned with coastal conservation. However such involvement is rarely exclusive and for most agencies and organisations coastal conservation is just a part of a wider environmental remit. For example, even a specific coastal designation such as Heritage Coasts represents but one aspect of the work covered by the Countryside Commission.
