Abstract
In recent years there has been an upsurge of interest in labor market issues. There have been many studies and news stories on job creation and wages, on how well the typical worker or family has fared, on whether the distribution of wages or income has changed, and if so, why changes have occurred. Studies have been made of what has happened in the past and there has been speculation about trends in the future.
