Abstract
Many top managers and entrepreneurs underestimate the role of technology as a competitive weapon. The sentence that “manufacturing does not matter anymore” is often heard on the management level. This philosophy can endanger the firms competitiveness to a large extent. For this attidude is equivalent to renouncing at strategic thinking and strategic planning.
