Abstract

Nowadays the surgical treatment of gastric cancer is divided into two types of operation: subtotal and total gastrectomy. There has been an increased use of total gastrectomy due to the introduction of stapling devices which reduce the incidence of postoperative complications due to anastomotic leakage.
