Abstract

From our experience in gastric cancer surgery we believe that radical excision is essential. Based on the biological aggressiveness of the tumour and the peculiar drainage of the stomach to obtain an oncologically valid clearance, surgery must include total gastrectomy and extended lymphadenectomy.
