Abstract
We report the first multifractal \( f\left( \alpha \right) \) spectra obtained from the well-log data of permeabilities from a large scale petroleum reservoir. Our analysis goes far beyond the previous analyses based upon a single scaling exponent (\( 1/f \) noise and the Hurst exponent). Some of the data are consistent with \( f\left( \alpha \right) \) spectra generated by one dimensional fully chaotic maps.
