Abstract

The United Kingdom government has not proclaimed zones of economic exclusivity (EEZs) for the seas contiguous to the United Kingdom, nor for any of the United Kingdom’s remaining dependencies, arguing that the already declared exclusive fishing zones and, as a matter of international law, the inherent rights to the continental shelves make such a declaration unnecessary.
