Abstract
Galileo has just been rehabilitated; it was on the news not too long ago. The event, however, seems to have been somewhat less newsworthy than the inter-religious gathering that took place in Assisi at about the same time. Be that as it may, by reopening the case of its relations with science, the Roman Catholic Church (together, for a change, with all the other Christian Churches) has paved the way for an intellectual renewal of even greater significance and, at the same time, still more radical.
