Abstract

The NAR framework study reported on in this book is important for its contributions to multiobjective planning, including the environmental objective; for the use of mathematical modeling methods; and for the use of institutional and organizational measures to shape the planning process. This chapter provides perspectives on the NAR study as a whole: the results, influence, and lessons of the study. These are dealt with under four headings: the use of the study; forecasts and recommendations; the study as a framework study; and methods and models. (On methods and models also see the perspective sections in Chapters 1–8.)
