Abstract
The concepts of utility and attitude stem from different disciplines, utility mainly having its roots in economics, while attitude has been developed in psychology. However, interesting similarities in conceptual content seem to exist as well as parallel lines of development of the concepts in each discipline. Section 2.1 starts with a comparison of conceptual contents, then, in Section 2.2, an overview is presented of the main theoretical developments of utility in economics, and, in Section 2.3, of psychological attitude. Section 2.4 describes some ideas about the relation between the constructs; Section 2.5 concludes.
