Abstract

5-Hydroxytryptamine3 (5-HT3) receptors were originally considered to be present only in the peripheral nervous system. However, recently evidence has accumulated showing the existence of 5-HT3 receptors in the central nervous system. In this chapter, we summarise this evidence.
