Abstract

Some experiments seem to imply that an electron can simultaneously occupy different regions of space; others again that it can be localized in a single tiny region. The same is true for photons, protons, neutrons, mesons, etc. Every microscopic object therefore seems to have a dual nature, which involves an extended phenomenon having the form of a wave and a localized phenomenon that behaves like a particle.
