Abstract
Diagnostic criteria in Crohn’s disease are well established in adults as far as radiological, histological and endoscopic criteria are concerned1–4. Most of these criteria have been developed for therapeutic studies. That is why they are very strict and do not stick to early signs of the disease. Up to now, only the radiological and histological criteria of the adult studies have been applied for diagnostic purposes in children and adolescents5–7. These studies have shown that many paediatric patients do not fulfil radiological or histological criteria at the initial examination5–10.
