Abstract

Experimental investigations of the laminar-turbulent transition in the low-speed boundary layers [1] – [6] have shown the possibilities of various scenarios for a nonlinear stage in the transition zone. The physical features of the nonlinear mechanisms are discussed in the review [7]. The nonlinear stage of the transition in supersonic boundary layers has not been understood yet, because of difficulties in experimental research.
