Abstract

Trichoderma harzianum is a biocontrol agent that attacks a large variety of phytopathogenic fungi. In an attempt to better understand the mycoparasitism process, genes which are specifically expressed by T. harzianum during growth on cell walls of Rhizoctonia solani have been studied. It is carried out a differential screening of an induced cDNA library. Two cDNA clones have been isolated and characterized. One of these clones corresponds to a gene that encodes a presumptive amino acid permease. The other encodes a novel protein abundantly expressed.
