Abstract

The Institute for the Learning Sciences is a research and development center established at Northwestern University in 1989 with founding sponsorship from Andersen Consulting. The main goal of the Institute is to create innovative, computer-based learning environments, based on leading-edge research in Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence, that exploit developing theories about the way humans actually learn, remember, and reason.
