Abstract
Not long ago a young woman whom I’ ll call Michelle1 came to our family planning clinic. She told me she was pregnant and wanted an abortion. “Do you know for sure that you are pregnant?” I asked her. “Yes,” she said, “I did a test. Besides, my last period was in February.”
