Thermocatalytic Conversions of Wood Biomass in Fluidized Bed of Catalysts

  • Chapter
Developments in Thermochemical Biomass Conversion

Abstract

The process of catalytic gasification of hydrolytic lignin and wood bark in fluidized-bed reactors was studied under different operating conditions.

The complete gasification of wood lignin was accomplished in the fluidizing circulated bed of catalyst. The composition of gaseous products was studied at the variation of gasification process operating parameters and types of wood biomass. The relationship has been established between the calorific value of produced gases and the gasifying mixture velocity.

The integrated process of gaseous fuel and carbon porous material producing from wood biomass in a fluidized bed of different catalytically active materials has been investigated. Some disposable catalysts like metallurgical slag particles with good catalytic and mechanical properties have been selected for fluidized-bed reactors.
