Simulation of Profile and Flatness in the Cold Rolling of Steel Strip

Modelling of Metal Forming Processes

Abstract

A mathematical model for the simulation of profile and flatness in four-high rolling of steel was used to simulate the cold-rolling process in a 4-stand tandem mill. The calculated strip profiles were found to be within a few micrometres of the measured ones, and the calculated transfer stress distributions were qualitatively correct.
