Abstract

The annual electricity consumption in Denmark is about 25,0 TWh (1985) or a little less than 5,0 MWh per capita. Of this about 12,5% is used in refrigeration processes. It is convenient to split-up the refrigeration processes into domestic, commercial, and industrial processes. Today more than half (57%) of the electricity used for refrigeration is used in the households. Approximately 12% is used in commercial cooling plants and approximately 31% is used in industry, mainly the food-industry.
