Abstract

Titanium dioxide is the most widely used pigment in the surface coatings industry, consumption in 1985 being of the order of 1·6 × 106 metric tonnes (Mg) with a total usage in all industries of approx. 2·5 × 106Mg. Consumption by different industries in various markets is given by Callow.1.
