Improvement and Diversification of Cyanoacrylate Adhesives

  • Chapter
Adhesion 12

Abstract

Cyanoacrylates are enjoying increased popularity as instant-setting specialty adhesives in industrial and consumer markets [1]. Their peculiar properties distinguish them from all other adhesives. They are one-component, catalyst-free and cure in seconds at room temperature. They have exceptionally high adhesion towards most materials - metals, rubber, plastics, wood, ceramics, glass and even live tissue. What is the reason behind these unique properties?.
