Summary

The authors describe a case of a young patient with pigment epithelium hamartoma of the left eye with pre-retinal membranes located near the optic disk.

The differential diagnosis is also reported with complete echographic evaluation and with fluorescein and indocyanine green angiography. Our findings suggest that the echographic differential diagnosis is quite possible between pigment epithelium hamartoma and choroidal melanoma, haemangioma, retinoblastoma. However this differential diagnosis is quite difficult in comparison with metastatic lesions.
