Abstract
As part of a revision of the existing Cretaceous and Tertiary lithostratigraphic nomenclature in the Norwegian North Sea, the Shetland Group has been subdivided into formal formations. A part of the data base for the subdivision is presented which illustrates the lithostratigraphic-chronostratigraphic relations, regional correlation along well log profiles and seismic profiles, and regional distribution and thickness variations of the different formations.
