Abstract
In the case of textured specimens, the classical relations used for the determination of stresses by X rays are no longer verified and it becomes necessary to get a better description of the mechanical behaviour of the material than the isotropic Hooke law. In fact, texture leads to two effects: elastic anisotropy and plastic incompatibilities. However, only the elastic anisotropy of crystallites has been studied in that work wich represents the first stage of the modellization of the behaviour of the material. For that purpose the elastic behaviour of the coherently diffacting domains has been defined by the self consistent KRONER model and averaged over all diffracting orientations, using ODF function of the textured material. A comparison between calculated values of X ray elastic constants and measured ones has finally been made to check the reliability of the method.
