Influence of Residual Stress and Geometry in the Design Fatigue Life of Spot Welds

Abstract

Evaluation of the fatigue lifes of the spot welds requires to know the restraint stresses and the residual stresses at the nearness of the spot weld. This experimentally determined stresses are integrated in the fatigue life analysis of multispot welds
