Abstract
As the use of plastics materials becomes more widespread, the range of technical demands made upon the products becomes more wide-ranging. Some products are required to be very rigid, others highly flexible; in some cases a high level of resistance to all possible solvents is demanded, whilst in other cases water solubility may be required. Polymers may be specified as having very high electrical resistivity, whilst in other cases conductivity is a desirable attribute.
