Abstract
Cachexia and malnutrition are among the major causes of morbidity in patients with progressive cancer. The causes of cancer-related malnutrition are multifold, and can be conveniently divided into 3 interrelated groups; anorexia, mechanical obstruction of the alimentary tract and metabolic derangements (57).
